A Ukrainian drink-driver was swerving about the road in Rosyth when more than four times over the limit on Hogmanay.
Hennadii Voronovskyi, 44, formerly of the Keavil House Hotel, Crossford, now of Clyde Court, Clydebank, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court with a translator.
He was given the minimum length of ban for drink-driving - one year.
He admitted that on December 31, in Caledonia Way, Rosyth, he drove a car having consumed excess alcohol.
His reading was 99 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the limit being 22 microgrammes.
Depute fiscal Andrew Brown said the incident occurred at 6.50pm when police officers on patrol spotted a car stopped in the middle of the road.
It began moving and was “swerving about the road, clipping kerbs” before being stopped by the police who had activated their blue lights.
Sheriff Garry Sutherland banned Voronovskyi from driving for a year and imposed a community payback order with six months of supervision.
