Work is underway on a new £9 million housing development in Paisley that will bring 48 energy-efficient homes to East Lane.
The development from Loretto Housing Association, part of Wheatley Group, will cater to varying needs, with a mix of one and two-bedroom properties, including wheelchair-accessible options.
The homes will be fitted with solar PV cells to maximise energy efficiency.
Laura Henderson, managing director of Loretto, said: "We know there is a huge demand for affordable homes in Scotland and we are committed to playing our part in helping meet this demand by building quality housing.
"Working closely with our partners at the Scottish government and our contractors, The JR Group, we are investing in better futures for our customers.
"Paisley has a lot to offer as it is a thriving hub with good transport links to Glasgow and surrounding areas, with East Lane being in close proximity to supermarkets and local parks."
The project is being delivered by The JR Group.
The group began as a scaffolding business in 1995.
The company has grown to become one of Scotland's largest building and construction firms, now employing around 200 staff.
Andrew Dallas, projects director at The JR Group, said: "With The JR Group headquartered in Paisley, we’re delighted to partner with Loretto Housing Association to create much-needed, quality homes on our doorstep.
"We have worked closely with Loretto to ensure the homes meet the needs of the community and sustainability has also been a key factor.
"We look forward to completing the project and seeing the development’s new residents settle into their homes."
The development at East Lane is due to be completed in March 2025.
In addition to Loretto, Wheatley Group owns and manages more than 93,700 homes and was recently named the UK’s biggest builder of social housing over the past decade.
