A MAN was thrown out of court for burping during someone else's court case.
Christopher McColl, dressed in shorts for the occasion, interrupted a case involving a vicious assault, earning him a loud "get out!" from the sheriff.
When the 31-year-old's case was called later in the morning, his solicitor apologised on his behalf ahead of sentencing for having an offensive weapon.
McColl, of Drummore Road, Drumchapel, previously admitted to having a knife on March 4, 2023, at the Glenhead Tavern in Duntocher. He was on an undertaking to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at the time.
Sheriff William Gallacher said: "He has disrespected this court on more than one occasion. We have been trying to deal with Mr McColl for months."
Defence solicitor Jonathan Paul said: "He appreciates the seriousness of this matter."
The sheriff told McColl: "Your behaviour in court this morning made me wonder if this would actually work."
He imposed 15 months of supervision by social workers and ordered him to do 120 hours of unpaid work in the community within a year.
