A Glasgow councillor has jumped ship for the Tories to join Nigel Farage’s Reform party.
Thomas Kerr, who has been leader of the Conservative Group at the council for several years, has been announced as the latest defection.
Reform UK revealed the move on its social media accounts.

The party said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Thomas Kerr to Reform.
“Thomas brings with him not only his deep-rooted connection to the Shettleston community but a personal and powerful story of overcoming adversity.
“His decision to join Reform UK is a clear signal of his commitment to true change and practical solutions for Scotland."
His switch leaves the Tories with just one councillor in Glasgow, John Daly.
The move may have come as a surprise to his former colleague
Earleir this week Daly posted: “Back in the City Chambers today after the festive break. Starting 2025 off with a strategy chat with Thomas Kerr on how we can best represent the people of Glasgow against the backdrop of a shambolic Labour and SNP Government!”
The Tories have now gone from eight councillors at the 2017 election to a sole representative.
Kerr has stood for the Tories in the Rutherglen By election and also at the General Election where he came fifth, several hundred votes behind the Reform candidate in fourth.
Kerr has not made any public statement so far but has changed his social media X account to remove any mention of the Conservative Party.
It now states: “Reform Party UK Shettleston, Councillor Vice Convener, Licensing Board, Bailie Straight-Talker.”
