Both teams pushed for a late victory but were unsuccessful.

After the match, the 2,000 Celtic fans were held back at Ibrox.

However, one away fan was spotted in the home end, waving his green and white scarf after the Rangers fans had departed.

Celtic had a significant opportunity to win late in the game.

Daizen Maeda charged towards the goal after a poor Rangers throw-in, but was thwarted by Liam Kelly and James Tavernier.

Chris Sutton commented: "This is incredible.

"Johnny Kenny is screaming to Daizen Maeda, 'You've got to put it to me'.

"When he's in position, had Maeda found Kenny there, he'd have had the easiest of tasks.

"Wrong decision.

"Rangers get away with it."

The result leaves Rangers 17 points behind champions Celtic.

The teams are set to meet again at the start of next season.
