Rangers manager Danny Rohl has given an update on the club's search for a new first-team coach.
The position is reportedly a toss-up between Steven Davis and Neil McCann, both of whom have played for and coached the club in the past.
The hunt for a new coach comes after Rohl's first league victory as Rangers' manager.
The team secured a 3-1 win against Kilmarnock at the weekend.
Next up is a trip to Easter Road to play Hibs, with the aim of stringing a couple of positive results today before Sunday's huge League Cup semi-final against Celtic.
Rohl, 36, is keen to add someone with knowledge of the club to his backroom staff.
However, he stressed the importance of the new coach being a valuable contributor to the team, and not just a familiar face.
The German manager said: "Yeah, we are still looking, we have a shortlist now.
"I think this is important, and I'm also very clear what the profile should be.
"For me, it's important that maybe a next assistant coach helps me as well on the content.
"It’s not just that we have a name."
Rohl emphasised the need for the new coach to have a good understanding of the league and ideally, to be a former player.
He also wants the coach to contribute to the tactical aspects of the game.
He said: "I think it should be a combination, this is very important to understand the league.
"In the best case, it's a former player, I said this before, and the next point is that he can help me also from the content on the pitch, because then we have a great set-up."
Rohl's comments come amid speculation of a two-horse race for the coaching position.
Davis and McCann, both former Rangers players, are believed to be the front runners.
