Scott Brown's Ayr United are reportedly running the rule over former Rangers player Adam Devine.

The 22-year-old defender is presently clubless after leaving Rangers during the summer period.

Devine was able to make 11 appearances for the first team at Rangers, and had loan spells at Partick Thistle, Brechin City, Motherwell, and Queen's Park.

According to reports from RecordSport, Ayr's head coach, Brown, is assessing Devine as a potential addition to his squad, especially in light of the injury sustained by Dylan Watret.

Adding further interest to Devine's potential move to Ayr United is his previous playing history with Leon King.

King, who is currently on loan at Ayr from Rangers, shared the pitch with Devine during their time at Queen's Park last season.

In other related news, Scott Arfield, another former player from Ibrox, is speculated to be considering a move away from his present club.

It is claimed that he is set to leave Falkirk after starting just four league games this term.

During the summer, Arfield committed to a one-year contract with Falkirk after playing a significant role in their promotion to the top flight at the concluding stage of last season.

Throughout his career at Rangers, the 37-year-old enjoyed success, comprising a Scottish Premiership win and a Scottish Cup victory, along with a place in the Europa League final, eventually succumbing to a penalty defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt in 2022.

The following year saw Arfield exit Ibrox to join Charlotte FC and later Bolton Wanderers.

Following his exit there, he returned to Falkirk in February.
