A Renfrewshire nursery teacher and drag queen has appeared in court charged with child sex offences.

Craig Baxter, who has also been known to perform on the adult entertainment circuit as a drag queen, appeared in private at Paisley Sheriff Court in relation to two charges.

The 32-year-old is alleged to have caused an older child to look at a sexual image.

Baxter, who was fired from his nursery post following his arrest in October, made no plea at the private hearing.

His case was continued for prosecutors to investigate further and Sheriff Kevin Duffy released him on bail.

No future court dates have been set.

Police arrested Baxter in October last year after kids reported him to a local child safety organisation.

He was then fired from his post at the nursery.
