Blackburn Rovers midfielder Todd Cantwell celebrated Rangers' recent victory over St Mirren.

Despite his stormy exit from Ibrox, Cantwell, who spent 18 months there, continues to keep a close eye on Rangers' progress.

His departure occurred after a rift with former manager Philippe Clement, which saw Cantwell request to leave, resulting in a demotion to train with the B team.

After playing his part in his current club's 2-1 win over Championship high-flyers on Saturday, attention turned to the showdown in Paisley.

Beating St Mirren 1-0 thanks to left-back Tuur Rommen's finish, Rangers maintained their challenge in the title race.

Cantwell couldn't hide his delight, taking to social media to comment on his former club's success.

He posted: "Great weekend all round," followed by three clapping emojis.

With Hearts losing to Kilmarnock the night before, it moves Rangers to within three points of the leaders, and Celtic sandwiched in between.
