Prosecutor Ryan Watson said: “An officer felt something on the right side of his pocket.
“Brown said that it was his pal’s jacket.
“A kitchen knife with a three-and-a-half inch blade was recovered from the pocket.”
Brown was then arrested.
He pleaded guilty to having a knife in a public place without a reasonable excuse or lawful authority.
Garvey McArdle, defending, said Brown knew custody was “inevitable”.
Brown was jailed for 14 months.
