A REFORM MSP reportedly called his party's Scottish leader "useless" and branded another senior figure a "weasel", Anas Sarwar has claimed.
The Scottish Labour leader told journalists that Reform UK MSP Graham Simpson approached him in Holyrood and asked for his mobile number, amid a row over whether Sarwar offered to make a pact with Reform to "remove the SNP".
Sarwar repeated his position that he wants "nothing to do with these people", adding that he hopes to see them get "hammered" at the upcoming Holyrood elections.
It comes as a new poll carried out for More in Common, and seen exclusively by the Press Association, predicted Scottish Labour would continue in third place on 17 MSPs, while Reform UK would move into second place on 22 seats.
Sarwar said: "We all know they're not getting on well with each other, we know that Malcolm Offord can't stand some of them, we know that Thomas Kerr can't stand some of them.
"We know that Graham Simpson, for example, says himself that Malcolm Offord is a useless leader, he's terrible, very apologetic about the racist ads they're running against me, says that Thomas Kerr is a weasel.
"He even tried in the last couple of weeks to get my phone number. I refused to give it to him because I want nothing to do with these people."
The Scottish Labour leader added: "I think they're deplorable, I want them to get hammered, and I genuinely believe Scotland will reject them on May 7."
It has been claimed that Sarwar was approached by Simpson in a public area of the Scottish Parliament in the last couple of weeks of the term.
Simpson allegedly asked for the Scottish Labour leader's number, which Sarwar reportedly refused to give.
It is not clear why he asked Sarwar for his contact details.
Simpson, who represented the Central Scotland region, defected from the Scottish Conservatives to Reform UK in August last year.
He is standing as a Holyrood candidate in the Airdrie constituency.
