Glasgow man stole £700 worth of vapes from corner shop

A man was caught breaking into a corner shop and stealing hundreds of pounds' worth of vapes.  

David Llewellyn, 49, of Carnwadric, was sentenced at Glasgow Sheriff Court recently after pleading guilty to breaking into a retail premises and stealing a quantity of vaping products.

The court heard that the break-in took place at around 11.50pm on August 30, 2025, at a Shopsmart on Paisley Road West.

At this time, Rhazia Bibi, the store owner, was notified of the incident by an alarm.

One of the shop’s windows was slightly damaged, which is how Llewellyn got in.

After reviewing CCTV, Ms Bibi identified that £700 worth of stock had been taken.

Police were contacted, but Llewellyn was never officially traced in connection.

The Procurator Fiscal noted that none of the stock was recovered.

Llewellyn was not present when Sheriff Louise Arrol fined him £620.
