Schalke are set to sign former Celtic striker Junior Adamu from Freiburg.

The 25-year-old Austrian forward, who played on loan for Celtic in the 2025/26 season, is reported to have undergone a medical with the German club.

According to Bild, Adamu will make the move for a fee of around €800,000, with possible add-ons.

Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has echoed the report.

During his time at Celtic, Adamu made six appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

His goal came in the Scottish Cup against Dundee, an equaliser that forced extra time.

Celtic went on to win the competition, with manager Martin O'Neill praising the forward's efforts.

Adamu has netted seven goals and provided four assists in 67 appearances for Freiburg, and has made nine national team appearances since his 2021 debut.
