A limited-edition Scottie dog-shaped biscuit is making its debut this summer.
Launched by Glasgow’s McGhee’s Bakery, the new treat is part of a campaign to raise funds for Maggie’s, the cancer support charity.
From every pack sold, 25p will be donated to Maggie’s, which offers free practical, emotional and social support to anyone affected by cancer, including friends and family members.
The biscuits are inspired by McGhee’s sponsored Scottie dog sculpture on the Scotties in the City trail, a public art event launching across Glasgow on June 18.
The Scotties in the City trail features dozens of artist-designed Scottie dog sculptures throughout Glasgow, raising awareness and funds for Maggie’s while encouraging people to explore the city.
As part of the campaign, trail-goers can claim a free pack of the special biscuits by locating McGhee’s sponsored sculpture near the Maggie’s Gatehouse Building on Dumbarton Road and redeeming a reward through the official trail app.
They will arrive in SPAR stores across Scotland from July 30, for a limited three-week run.
Maggie’s Glasgow, based on the Gartnavel General Hospital campus, offers a calm and welcoming space close to NHS treatment where people can access everything from benefits advice and psychological support to specialist workshops and support groups.
McGhee’s Bakery, founded in 1936, is a family-run business now in its fourth generation.
Based in Springburn, it produces a wide range of Scottish bakery favourites including morning rolls, tattie scones, pancakes, doughnuts and empire biscuits.

Hayley Smith, project manager for Scotties in the City at Maggie’s, said: "We are delighted to be bringing the Scotties in the City art trail to Glasgow.
"The trail has enormous potential to bring people together as well as raise awareness of Maggie’s as a charity supporting individuals and their families through cancer and treatment.
"We are over the moon to have McGhee’s Bakery on board as a Scottie sponsor and to also have their fantastic Scottie-inspired gingerbread biscuits in stores around Scotland supporting Maggie’s this summer."
Aisling McGhee, commercial director at McGhee’s Bakery, said: "Maggie’s is an organisation that means a great deal to many families across Glasgow and Scotland.
"We wanted to find a way to support the charity that would encourage people to get involved with the trail while also raising vital funds for the incredible work the team does every day."
McGhee’s Scottie dog biscuits will be available in One-O-One Convenience stores from Thursday, June 18.
