A beloved musical has announced it will be shimmying into Glasgow for a five night run at the King's Theatre.

Hairspray will be coming to the city from July 20 to July 25 2027, bringing Baltimore to Bath Street.

The show will be directed by Paul Kerryson and Brenda Edwards, who herself is very familiar with the material, having played Motormouth in three previous productions.

Brenda Edwards said: "I am so thrilled that this wonderful musical is returning to cities across the UK as it holds a very special place in my heart! I had so much fun making my directorial debut as a co-director with Paul Kerryson first time round.

"The show’s story and themes continue to remain as relevant as ever and I cannot wait to share this vibrant new production of this timeless musical with even more people."

Tickets are on sale now for the show's stop at the King's Theatre via ATG Tickets.
