Ben Godfrey is set to miss around four weeks of action for Rangers after picking up a hamstring injury, according to his report.

The centre-back, after signing on loan from Atalanta this summer, made his competitive debut for the Ibrox side in the Scottish Premiership opener against Dundee United.

He had to be withdrawn during the 1-1 draw after pulling up with the injury, with Dujon Sterling moving in from right-back to partner Manny Fernandez and Ross McCrorie coming on.

Now, the Scottish Sun is reporting that Godfrey has been ruled out for around four weeks.

It will push Rangers back into the transfer market to find centre half reinforcements, with Fernandez and new arrival Olwethu Makhanya now the only fit out-out and centre backs available.

John Souttar has been told he can find a new club and has interest from Sheffield United, Leicester, Swansea and Watford.

Godfrey will miss the Europa League third qualifying round against Polish side Jagiellonia Bialystok, as well as either the Europa League or Conference League play-off.
