A revised proposal is now expected to be submitted in the near future.
East Dunbartonshire Council had sought permission to develop land next to 47 Main Street in Torrance.

However, the application, which was first submitted in May 2025, was formally withdrawn on November 3 after spending more than a year in the planning system.
The council has now confirmed the move was made to allow changes to be made to the development rather than to abandon it.
Ann Davie, Chief Executive of East Dunbartonshire Council, said: “The proposals were withdrawn to allow our architect and design team to make a slight revision to the proposals."

Anne added: “We hope to be in a position to submit a revised plan to the local planning authority in the near future.”
The council has not yet specified what the revision will involve.
Plans submitted as part of the withdrawn application show the 12 properties were proposed as two-apartment, two-person flats, divided between the two blocks.

It remains to be seen what changes will be made when the council brings the development back before planners.
