Family and friends are preparing to cycle from Ireland to Scotland in memory of a beloved journalist.
The Shore to Shore fundraiser, taking place in honour of BBC and STV journalist Nick Sheridan, aims to raise funds for the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity and The Rainbow Unit in Scoil Mhuire.
Led by Nick's brother Brian Sheridan, the fundraiser has already surpassed its target of raising £25,000.
Brian said: "We're overwhelmed with the support we've received from sponsors and donations both in Ireland and in Scotland.
"It's a fantastic tribute to Nick's memory to have been able to raise this amount of money in his name.
"We can't wait to hit the road now and share this experience together."

Nick passed away in 2024 after suffering a brain aneurysm and being cared for in the Neurological ICU Ward at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
In recognition of the care Nick received, the money raised for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity will go directly to the Neurological Department in the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow.
Brian said: "Nick received fantastic care from the team in the Neurology Unit of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, but as a children’s author and coming from a family of teachers, we decided to fundraise for the Neurology Department in the Royal Hospital for Children.
"Nick’s love for children and young people would mean fundraising for this charity would be a great tribute to his memory, as well as helping those families who find themselves in a situation similar to our own."
The fundraiser kicks off on Friday, May 1 with a sunrise swim at Curracloe Beach and concludes at Loch Lomond on Monday, May 4 with the team cycling from Wexford to Glasgow in between.

Brian said: "Nick had a great love for both his homeplace of Wexford and his adopted home of Glasgow, so with that in mind we decided to try to connect Wexford and Glasgow, just as Nick did during his life.
"I’m looking forward to bringing all the threads of Nick’s life together in one place, his family and friends in both Wexford and Glasgow and his spirit and love for the outdoors through the swimming and cycling."
