It’s A level results day today (August 13) and while some students will be celebrating their grades, others will be less pleased.
However, if you’re disappointed by the grades you received, it’s not the end of the world and it doesn’t mean you won’t see any success in your future, as Jeremy Clarkson likes to remind us each year.
Known for presenting Top Gear and now the star of Clarkson’s Farm, Jeremy runs his own farm in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire.
Having had huge success in his TV career, students can take some comfort from knowing he didn’t get the best possible A level grades.
Don’t worry if your A level results are a bit disappointing. I got a C and two Us. And this evening I shall sit in my agreeable garden, drinking beer from my own brewery and eating food from my own farm. Prepared by my own chef.

Jeremy Clarkson encourages students on A level results day with annual X post
On X this morning, he posted, telling students “don’t worry” if they didn’t get the grades they wanted.
In his A levels, he got a C grade and two U grades, meaning they were ungraded.
He added: “Don’t worry if your A level results are a bit disappointing.
“I got a C and two Us.
“And this evening I shall sit in my agreeable garden, drinking beer from my own brewery and eating food from my own farm.
“Prepared by my own chef.”
It’s become a bit of a tradition for Clarkson to encourage students on results day and he gives an update on where he’s at each year, telling them that grades don’t define them or their future.
The tradition began in 2014 when he posted: "If your A-level results aren't joyous, take comfort from the fact I got a C and two Us.
“And I have a Mercedes Benz."
Over the years, he has posted about his grades and shared some of the luxuries he’s been able to enjoy since his school days.
In 2015, he was in a villa in St Tropez, and in 2016, on a superyacht in the Mediterranean.
By 2017, his chef was preparing truffles for breakfast.
In 2018, he shared how he was deciding which of his Range Rovers to use that day.
A closer look into Jeremy Clarkson's life as a pub landlord
In 2020, as the world was feeling the effects of the Covid pandemic, Clarkson was building a large house with far-reaching views of the Cotswolds.
A few years later, he owns a pub.
