The BBC has released an extended trailer and picture ahead of the 40th anniversary double-bill of the BAFTA-winning drama Casualty.
Casualty is the world's longest-running medical drama and has been giving viewers powerful storylines featuring unforgettable characters for four decades.
And now viewers can look forward to a landmark special of the iconic show airing next month.
The extended trailer released on August 12 gives fans a sneak preview of what to expect from the upcoming double-bill.
What can we expect from the 40th anniversary double-bill of Casualty
In the trailer, panic and worry are shown to set the scene as it is revealed St James' Hospital is the site of a major explosion causing chaos in Holby.
As the preview continues, paramedics are spotted searching through the hospital rubble as those back at Holby City Hospital try to hold everything together for the large-scale rescue operation.
In the trailer, a tearful Dylan, played by William Beck, is spotted as he is said to battle personal tragedy in the double-bill while continuing to lead his team through the turmoil.
Stevie, played by Elinor Lawless, and Flynn, played by Olly Rix, also find themselves in a race against time in the upcoming special in an intense and emotional storyline.
In the trailer, the two characters are shown being thrown around the inside of an ambulance leaving viewers in the lurch of what's to come.
Melanie Hill, Barney Walsh, Neet Mohan, Charles Venn, Sammy Dobson, Kirsty Mitchell, Di Botcher, Anna Chell, Sarah Seggari, Michael Stevenson, Milo Clarke, Naomi Wakszlak and Aron Julus will also star in the landmark special.
Produced by BBC Studios Drama Productions, the double-bill will air on September 5 on BBC iPlayer and BBC One.
After the 40th anniversary special trailer was announced, fans shared their excitement online but also their worries about their favourite characters' longevity in the drama.
One user said: "Oooooo dramatic! I love it ! Can’t wait."
