A UK-based luxury private events company used by global stars, including Katy Perry, has entered administration after nearly 20 years in business.
Private Drama Events, based in London, is an "award-winning storytelling agency" that specialises in "immersive, narrative-led events for luxury audiences".
Since its launch in 2007, the company has provided entertainment for various high-end clients and global brands in iconic destinations.
The company has up to 10 employees and has built up more than 10,000 followers on Instagram.
Its social media posts showcase a range of elaborate productions, from murder mystery performances on the British Pullman train to circus-themed events in New York.
One post features a glowing review from pop star Katy Perry, who reportedly used the company for her 40th birthday celebration in Venice in 2024.
In the review, Perry said: "I wanted something unique, immersive and unforgettable and you delivered on every detail.
"We were completely captivated.
"Thanks for making my 40th birthday an absolute blast – obsessed."
Private Drama Events collapses into administration after nearly 20 years
Despite its high-profile clientele, Private Drama Events has now entered administration.
Nicholas Simmonds and Chris Newell of Quantuma Advisory Limited were appointed joint administrators on August 6, according to The Gazette.
Administration is a formal insolvency process that occurs when a company is unable to meet its financial obligations.
It allows a licensed practitioner to either restructure the business and reach arrangements with creditors or sell off assets to repay debts and potentially liquidate the company.
Companies House records show that Private Drama Events Ltd's accounts are currently overdue.
The company's last filed accounts covered the period up to October 31, 2024.
Its most recent accounts were due by July 31, 2026.
Other UK companies that have closed or entered administration/liquidation in 2026
It has been a tough year for the UK high street, with several other retailers entering administration or liquidation and others announcing widespread store closures.
Major high street brands LK Bennett, Claire's, and Quiz have been forced to close all their remaining stores after falling into administration.
UK fashion retailer Leading Labels is also set to close its remaining 15 stores after falling into liquidation.
Whitbread recently confirmed it will be closing all its UK restaurants in September:

The company responsible for iconic British bikemaker Raleigh, Accell Group, has also collapsed into administration, putting the 139-year-old British bikemaker at risk of closing.

UK delivery company Yodel is set to be phased out after being acquired by InPost.
It's also been reported that Morrisons is looking to sell some of its in-store pharmacies as it continues to cut costs.
