A SUSPECT is accused of murdering a man then sending photos of his bloodstained body to others.

Andrew Palfreman, 27, is accused of fatally attacking Barry MacLachlan at a flat in Glasgow's Lambhill on July 2 and 3 last year.

It is claimed he repeatedly the struck the 33 year-old on the head and body with a knife.

Palfreman then faces a charge under the Communications Act.

Prosecutors claim he sent "grossly offensive" messages and images to two others "referring to the death" of Mr MacLachlan.

The accusation states the pictures showed the "injured and bloodstained" body of the man lying in the close of the property.

Palfreman faces a further allegation of attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

Lawyers pleaded not guilty on his behalf during a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.

Lord Arthurson fixed a trial due to start in December this year.
