Huge queues began to form early this morning as customers eagerly awaited the opening of a new Glasgow city centre restaurant.

Ahead of its official opening today, Friday 25, crowds gathered as early as 6:45 am to make sure that they were the first to sample Jollibee on Sauchiehall Street.

The Filipino chain, which specialises in 'Chickenjoy' fried chicken is hugely popular across the globe with over 1,000 restaurants worldwide.

Adam Parkinson, Business Head of Jollibee Europe, said: “We are really excited to be here in Glasgow to launch our second store in Scotland, especially as Glasgow is such a hotspot for foodies.

"Seeing the enthusiasm of Glaswegians queuing outside in anticipation of the store opening is amazing and we hope to introduce more people to the delicious flavours and diverse food we have to offer.

"Come experience our hospitality as well as the juiciest, tastiest, and crispiest fried chicken in town.”
