CREWS are on the scene due to concern for a woman in Springburn.

Scotrail informed travellers just before 3pm that emergency services were attending an incident that occurred between Springburn and Robroyston.

As a result, the Springburn line was closed and services between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh via Falkirk Grahamston and Cumbernauld have been diverted.

They later issued an update that they have requested a rail replacement service at Queen Street and Camelon to make stops to Springburn.

British Transport Police confirmed that the incident was being dealt with by Police Scotland

Cops then confirmed that they were on the scene at an area of Broomfield Road in Springburn due to concern for a woman.

The road remains closed.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police were called to the Broomfield Road area of Glasgow, around 2pm on Monday, March 28, following concern for a woman.

"Officers remain at the scene and the road is currently closed.”

At around 6pm, Scotrail confirmed that the line between Glasgow Queen Street, Springburn, Cumbernauld and Camelon was back open again, and that trains would stop at their scheduled stations as normal.
