A POPULAR cafe in Glasgow's Southside has announced that they are staying open after an emotional goodbye earlier this week.

Canary Girl Coffe in Govanhill took to Facebook on Monday to announce their closure after a "tough year".

Today, in a similar post, they shared the news that the cafe is staying open.

The post read: "SURPRISE! WE AREN'T CLOSING!

"In typical Robbie's life is a Telenovela fashion, the second we announce our demise... THE ROASTER IS FIXED!

"There will be some changes, we might have to temporarily go back to serving from the door to focus on getting some coffee roasted and stocked."

The shock announcement left customers overjoyed in the comments.

One person said: "Brilliant news, just keep your plans on a low heat roast.

"Sorry bad pun, will try and get over and get some of the heavenly Canary Girl Roasted beans soon."

Another wrote: "You are playing my heart strings like a harp!"
