A manhunt has been launched for two men after a car was deliberately torched in Airdrie.

Officers were called to Clark Street at around 11.55pm on Thursday, April 7. following a report of a car on fire.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended and extinguished the fire safely, and there were no reports of any injuries.

Now officers are probing the incident and are keen to track down two men who were seen in the area at the time.

A burgundy or red SUV car was also seen. 

Detective Constable Lyndsay McKinnon said: “We are treating the fire as deliberate and are asking anyone with any information to get in touch. 

"A burgundy/red SUV and two men were seen in the area around the time and I am appealing to anyone with information about this vehicle or any other information which may assist us to get in touch.

"I would also appeal to anyone who has possible dashcam or CCTV footage that may be able to assist us with our enquiries."
