A new Greek restaurant is getting ready to open its doors this week with a tasty giveaway to celebrate.

Gyros, a sister venture to Halloumi, will open this Wednesday offering its first 100 diners the chance to bag themselves a free serving of either meat or veggie-filled Gyros.

The restaurant will welcome customers from 12 pm with a queue starting at 11:30 am, so head down sharp if you're looking to be one of the first to try their take on a Greek street food staple.

As well as Gyros, the new West End spot will offer a menu full of Meditteranean fare from Chargrilled Lamb Kofta to Skepasti or loaded Halloumi fries designed to be shared.

General Manager Andrew Kangulu said: “We are thrilled to open Gyros in Glasgow’s West End.

"Our sister brand, Halloumi has proven to be a huge success, with three locations, and has established a demand for Greek cuisine in Glasgow.

"Customers at Gyros can expect a casual dining experience full of traditional Greek flavours cooked lovingly while they wait using time-honoured methods and long-established recipes."
