A MAN has been charged in connection with an assault after a woman was rushed to hospital.
Police were called to Jamaica Street at around 3.10am on Monday morning following a report of an assault.
A 46-year-old woman was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary by ambulance for treatment.
No information was provided about the nature of her injuries.
Officers confirmed a 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson: "Around 3.10am on Monday, April 18, police were called to the Jamaica Street area of Glasgow, following a report of an assault.
"The victim, a 46-year-old woman, was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.
"A 30-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
"A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
