The First Minister is set to appear as a guest on the popular daytime TV talkshow Loose Women tomorrow.

Denise Welch shared the news with her Twitter followers this afternoon in a post that has since received over 7000 likes.

Hinting that we may be in for some fiery exchanges between Nicola Sturgeon and panellist Carol McGiffen she said: "Guess who's on @loosewomen on …..Nicola Sturgeon. Guess who’s on the panel……@McGiff"

It is likely that the show's hosts will be looking to address the recent controversy caused by the First Minister appearing in a video taken at an East Kilbride Barber's without her facemask.

At the time there was a legal requirement to wear a face covering in most indoor public places in Scotland, including shops, public transport and hairdressers.

Speaking on Monday, The First Minister said: “On Saturday, while campaigning outdoors in East Kilbride I was invited into a local barbershop.

"After a few seconds of being in the shop, I realised I had forgotten to put my face covering back on. I then immediately put it on.

“However, I accept that not wearing a face covering even for a few seconds was an error on my part and I am sorry for that."

Ms Sturgeon's sister Gillian has, however, said that the ITV show's conversations will not be focused on politics.

She wrote on Facebook today: "My sister is on Loose Women tomorrow. She will not be discussing politics but something all women can relate to."

Loose Women will air on Wednesday, April 20 on ITV from 12:30 pm.
