A MAN has been rushed to hospital after he was stabbed in the city's Drygate area. 

Emergency services raced to Collins Street at around 7.35am this morning following reports of a disturbance.

Officers confirmed a man in his twenties has been rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after he was stabbed during a serious assault. 

An investigation is currently under way within a block of flats in Drygate and police say they are following a number of lines of enquiry.

Pictures show a number of police officers at Simpson Heights in Drygate and the flats have been taped off. 

A section of pavement has also been taped off on Catherdral Street near Collins Street.

A local resident said police were asking for people's names and contact details earlier today as enquiries continue. 

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7.35am on Thursday, April 21, police were called to a report of a disturbance on Collins Street, Glasgow.

"A man in his twenties was found injured and he has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he is being treated for stab wounds.

"Enquiries are ongoing into the serious assault that took place within a block of flats on Drygate.

"Officers are following a number of lines of enquiry in relation to this incident."
