A LANDSCAPE gardener breached his bail conditions by taking his lover to a hotel on Valentine's Day.

Mark Steedman, 30, booked a room for himself and Stephanie Britt at Glasgow's Crowne Plaza on February 14, 2022.

Glasgow Sheriff Court heard that CCTV noted the pair arrive at the hotel in a Volkswagen Golf at 4.10pm.

The pair were seen to check in moments later.

Prosecutor Stewart McLean said: "At 8pm they had a minor disagreement at the bar and Miss Britt no longer wished to spend the evening with Steedman.

"She arranged a taxi which took her to her mother's."

Officers attended the scene for a separate incident and Steedman, of the city's Darnley, was arrested.

The car he had earlier driven to the hotel was found to have no MOT certificate.

Steedman pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to having no MOT and breaching his bail conditions by contacting Miss Britt.

Graham Bentley, defending, told the court that the dad-of-two and Miss Britt willingly went to the hotel together.

The lawyer added: "The two matters he was on bail for, the one in July he had a not guilty accepted for that.

"There was a breach of domestic bail in the August which he was admonished."

Sheriff Charles Lugton replied: "He does have domestic convictions?"

Mr Bentley said: "He does and there is no getting away from that...there has been no further incident."

Steedman was fined a total of £300 for both offences.
