A baby fox sparked a frantic rescue mission after getting its head stuck in a garden fence.
The adorable cub was discovered in Motherwell before being taken to a wildlife hospital.
It is unclear how long the animal had been stuck before rescue officer Aidan used wire cutters to free it.
He checked the area for the infant's mother but sadly she was not found.
The SSPCA said: "Our animal rescue officer Aidan was called out to a property in Motherwell yesterday, where a fox cub had gotten their head stuck in a garden fence.
"We’re not sure how long the fox had been there for, and there was no sign of the mother.
"Aidan was able to use wire cutters to cut the fence and free the fox, who was taken to our wildlife hospital to be checked over by our vet.
"The fox will be integrated with some of the other foxes in the centre’s care before later being released back into the wild."
