A MAN caught with a blade and told officers he forgot he had it has been jailed for 10 months.
William McGregor, 46, was snared with the knife in Glasgow's Laurieston on August 10, 2021.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard police attended spare ground on Bedford Street due to reports that drug paraphernalia had been discarded there.
Officers came across McGregor, another man and a woman who were searched.
Prosecutor Alistair Mitchell said: "A black handled Stanley knife with an open blade was found in McGregor's trouser pocket.
"This was seized and McGregor was cautioned and charged.
"He replied: 'I forgot it was there'."

McGregor, of the city's Shawlands, pleaded guilty this week to having a knife in a public place without a reasonable excuse or lawful authority.
Philip Cohen, defending, told the court that the knife was used to by McGregor to cut up drugs.
It was revealed that McGregor's previous convictions include crimes of dishonesty as well as assault and robbery.
Sheriff Tom Hughes told him: "Your lawyer is correct to identify that custody is the only way to deal with this matter."
