TWO men have been rushed to hospital following a serious assault at Springfield Quay.

Cops were called to a disturbance involving a group of men at around 12.50am on Monday. 

The Scottish Sun reports footage from the scene shows groups of men fighting with each other and using makeshift weapons, including metal rods.

Two men, aged 22 and 35, had to be taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment following the incident. 

An investigation is underway and anyone with information is asked to contact police via 101, quoting incident number 0157 of May 2. 

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At around 12.50am on Monday, May 2, police were made aware of a disturbance involving a group of men in the Springfield Quay area of Glasgow.

"Two men, aged 35 and 22, were seriously assaulted and taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 and quote incident number 0157 of 2 May."
