AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a pensioner was killed in a car crash in Glasgow. 

The 80-year-old was driving a black Audi A3 on Glasgow Road in the Garrowhill area on April 24.

At around 8.20am, he went off-road and collided with a tree.

He was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary and later Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he died from his injuries. 

Officers are probing the incident and are urging any witnesses to come forward to help their investigation.

Sergeant Douglas Scott, of the Glasgow Road Policing Unit, said: “At this time, our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased, following their tragic loss.

“As we continue our enquiries, I would urge anyone with information that could help with our investigation or any potential dashcam footage to please get in touch.”
