A PROPERTY has suffered "extensive damage" as a result of a deliberate fire in Paisley early this morning. 

The fire caused damage to the property on Tannahill Road at around 1.45am, with officers saying the blaze is being treated as deliberate. 

No one was injured as a result of the incident and an investigation is now underway to find those responsible. 

Officers say they are reviewing CCTV but are urging those who saw anything suspicious or anyone who was driving in the area at the time with dashcam footage to get in touch.

Detective Constable Talia Eadie of Paisley CID said: "Enquiries are continuing however at this time we are treating the fire as wilful.

"It has caused extensive damage to the property.

"No one was injured.

"Extensive enquiries are ongoing to identify those persons responsible, including reviewing CCTV from the area.

"Anyone with information that may assist our investigation, or who may have been in the area of Tannahill Road who witnessed anything suspicious early on Saturday morning should contact police as soon as possible.

"I would also ask anyone driving in the area who has a dash-cam, or anyone with personal footage to check in case it holds information that may assist us."
