AROUND £3000 worth of items has been stolen from a convenience store in Parkhead.

Two people broke into the shop on Springfield Road at around 4am on Friday, April 22 near Gallowgate Junction. 

Police are now appealing for assistance in finding the two suspects who caused significant damage to the premises and made off on foot with the goods and around £200 in cash. 

PC Christopher Donnelly of London Road Police Station said: "Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone who has information or who saw anything suspicious at the time to get in touch.

"Likewise, if anyone was in the area and has dash-cam footage, CCTV or doorbell cameras I would encourage you to check your footage for anything of relevance."

The first suspect was wearing a grey hoodie, grey jogging bottoms, dark trainers, a backpack and a mask. 

The second person was wearing a light-coloured hoodie, dark bottoms, trainers, a backpack and a mask.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police via 101, quoting incident number 0391 of April 22.
