COPS have lockdown a busy road in Glasgow city centre amid an "ongoing police incident".

Killermont Street, just outside Buchanan Bus Station, has been closed by police according to a Glasgow City Council traffic bulletin.

The road was closed around 7.20am this morning, Thursday, May 19.

The bulletin reads: "Due to an on-going police incident, Killermont Street is currently closed, access to Buchanan Bus Station is still available via North Hanover Street."

First Bus warned passengers on Twitter that some of its services to and from the station are being diverted.

Services 77/9/9A/128/M3/240/255/263/267 are currently affected.

The tweet read: "Services 77/9/9A/128/M3/240/255/263/267 Due to an incident on Killermont St, above services will be diverting: To BBS: West Nile St, Cowcaddens Rd, North Hanover St, Killermont St both ways.

"Apologies."

Police Scotland later confirmed the road was taped off following a serious assault that resulted in two men being taken to hospital.

The road has now reopened.
