A MAN has been accused of overtaking and pulling out in front of a police car at speed.
Craig Bryson, 45, of Glasgow's Broomhill is charged with dangerous driving in Newton Mearns, East Renfrewshire, on September 27, 2019.
Court papers state Bryson reset the car which was dishonestly appropriated by theft in the city's Thornliebank.
It is claimed he drove the vehicle at excessive speed in Newton Mearns and repeatedly tailgated a police car.
The charge says he overtook the police car at excessive speed and crossed onto the opposing carriageway at a blind bend.
Bryson allegedly then pulled out in front of the police vehicle before braking suddenly.
It is said the driver of the police vehicle had to take evasive action to avoid a collision.
Bryson is also charged with failing to do a breath test and failing to appear at a court date in December 2021.
A separate charge sheet says he drove the vehicle while disqualified and without insurance.
Bryson pleaded not guilty last week at Glasgow Sheriff Court to the charges.
A further hearing was fixed for next month by sheriff Joan Kerr.
