A MAN has been rushed to hospital after he was found with a serious head injury near the Battlefield Rest.

Cops were called to Grange Road at around 12.55am on Thursday after the 43-year-old man was found injured. 

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment and his current condition is unknown. 

An investigation is now underway to find out how the man came to be injured and officers are keen to speak to several members of the public who helped him as they believe they could have important information. 

Detectives are also checking CCTV footage from in and around the area.

Detective Constable Jamie Whitton said: "It’s vital we establish fully what has happened.

"We are conducting enquires to ascertain how this man has come about his injuries.

"I am asking people who were there at the time to contact us, any small piece of information could help us establish what happened.

"I would also ask motorists with dashcams to check their footage, it’s possible they could have captured something which could prove relevant to our enquiries."
