A MAN has been left with a serious head injury in what is believed to be a targeted attack.

The 25-year-old was assaulted at around 5.30am on the morning of Saturday, May 21 at Meldrum Street in Clydebank.

He was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

Cops have since launched an investigation and have been going door-to-door and questioning locals as well as scouring CCTV for evidence. 

Detective Constable Thomas O’Donnell said: “We believe this is a targeted attack and it’s imperative we trace whoever is responsible.

"I am appealing to anyone who was in the area of Meldrum Street in the early hours of Saturday morning to contact us with any information they may have.

"Any small piece of information could prove vital to our investigation so please do pass it on.”
