A SECOND suspect has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man who was found dead in a burnt-out car more than three years ago.
The body of Rafal Lyko, 36, was discovered in Greenhall Park in Blantyre, South Lanarkshire, on February 11, 2019.
Mr Lyko had travelled to Scotland from his native Poland two days before he was killed.
On Tuesday, Police Scotland announced that Darren Owen had been arrested and charged in connection with Mr Lyko’s death.
The 22-year-old, of Glasgow, made no plea to the murder charge when he appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court later in the day.
The case was committed for further examination with Owen remanded in custody meantime. He is due to return to court within the next eight days.
Owen’s arrest follows that of Thomas Wilson, 25, who has also been accused of Mr Lyko’s murder.
Wilson, of Glasgow, also made no plea when he appeared in the same court earlier this month.
