TWO men are in a stable condition in the hospital after a gang attacked them on a canal path. 

The victims, aged 25 and 27, were approached by a group of men on the canal path near Beardmore Place in Clydebank just four minutes after midnight today (Monday, June 6).

Police said they sustained serious injuries but did not provide any descriptions of the men who carried out the attack.

The force added that the 25-year-old was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital while the 27-year-old was admitted to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

CID have appealed for anyone who was driving in the area to come forward in the hope that dash-cam footage captured something that may assist the investigation.

Detective Sergeant Kirsteen McDaid, of Clydebank CID, said: “Two men were seriously injured and we are asking anyone who may have seen what happened or has information about those responsible to get in touch.

“In addition, anyone who was driving in the area at the time and may have dash-cam that could help with our enquiries is asked to let us know.

“If you can assist officers then please call us on 101, quoting incident number 0018 of Monday, 6 June, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
