A plane bound for Glasgow Airport was forced into a dramatic mid-air u-turn after a fault was detected onboard.
Flight LS174 was scheduled to fly from Faro, Portugal to Scotland but took a sudden turn while flying over A Coruna in the north of Spain an hour after take-off.
The plane then travelled across the country to Alicante in a 500-mile detour, with Jet2 later revealing that a 'minor fault indication' had grounded the plane.
Passengers did not return to Glasgow until 18 hours after their scheduled arrival time, with the airline apologising for the disruption.
Spotlight: Glasgow eyesores that need the owners to take responsibility
A Jet2 spokesperson said: "Our flight from Faro to Glasgow followed standard procedure following a minor fault indication yesterday, and diverted to Alicante Airport.
"Our teams worked extremely hard to look after customers and we are pleased to report that customers arrived back in Glasgow this morning.
"We do of course apologise for any inconvenience."
