A PERSON has been treated for smoke inhalation following a blaze in the Gorbals.
Emergency services were called to Commercial Court at around 6.23am following reports of a fire inside a seventh-floor flat. The complex houses the Waddell Court flats.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) spokesperson said four fire engines and a height appliance were sent to the scene.
Following the blaze, one person was treated for smoke inhalation and handed over to the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
SFRS confirmed the fire has been extinguished and crews left after ensuring the building was safe.
Pictures show a number of police were also in attendance, though they have confirmed the fire is not being treated as wilful.
One eyewitness told the Glasgow Times: "There was police and fire engines parked all along the Clyde side.
"It looked pretty serious.
"There was also a lot of police there for just a fire."
An SFRS spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 6.23am on Thursday, June 16 to reports of a fire within a seventh-floor flat in a multi-storey building at Commercial Court, Glasgow.
"Operations control immediately mobilised four fire appliances and a height appliance to the location and firefighters extinguished the fire.
"One casualty was treated for smoke inhalation and handed over to the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
"Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.55am on Thursday, June 16, police were called to assist following a report of a fire at Commerical Court, Glasgow.
"The fire is not being treated as wilful."
The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
