POLICE officers in North Glasgow are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was taken to hospital following a crash with a car.

Yesterday, we reported that a road was taped off and a 23-year-old man was hospitalised with serious injuries following a two-vehicle collision on Haywood Street.

The incident happened around 2.30pm on Monday, at the junction with Chapelton Street.

Now, Police Scotland has confirmed that an electric bike and a grey Ford Focus were involved in the crash.

They have launched an investigation into the circumstances and are asking anyone with information or footage to reach out.

Sergeant Paul Mellis, of Glasgow Road Policing, said: “Our enquiries into the cause of the crash are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who witnesses the crash or who has any information which may assist us to get in touch.

“I would also ask anyone driving on that road around the time of the crash with dash-cam footage to get in touch.”
