The weekly entertainment series was put on ice for two years but returns to STV on Friday for a bumper 19-week run.

Reunited hosts Emma and Laura will discuss all things movies, music, theatre and telly every Friday night with tips on where to go and what to see across Scotland.

They will be joined by the rising stars and shining giants of showbiz to discuss the resurgence of Scottish entertainment post-Covid.

Comedian Alan Carr, fresh from his sold-out gig in Inverness, is set to appear on Friday’s launch episode to discuss his ongoing UK stand-up tour, the return of Epic Gameshow to STV, and the moment he stole the show from Adele.

Sam Heughan, the Dumfries and Galloway-born star of Outlander, will drop in to chat about his upcoming role alongside James Nesbitt and Richard E. Grant in the Channel 4 thriller Suspect.

Emma said: “Talking to some of the biggest stars and most promising new talent every Friday is something that I’ve really missed, so I’m delighted to be joining Laura in bringing What’s On Scotland back to screens for another summer of fun.”

Co-host Laura added: “Entertainment is officially back on the agenda.

“After two years of slim cultural pickings thanks to Covid, summer 2022 is going to be one heck of a ride in Scotland, with live gigs, touring theatre shows and Hollywood blockbusters returning in their droves.

“As an entertainment reporter, it really does feel like all my Christmasses are about to come at once, and I can’t wait to help viewers plan their own feasts of entertainment with our jam-packed ‘what’s on’ guide every week on STV.”

What’s On Scotland begins on STV at 7pm on Friday and will be available to stream on the STV Player.
