A BABY boy has been born in the back of a car after police officers stopped to help a "distressed" man.
PC Stevie Fergus and PC Guy Rawson were on a routine patrol yesterday on Maxwell Road when they were flagged down by the man.
The officers soon discovered his wife had gone into labour in the back of their car and, realising there wasn't much time, helped deliver the baby.

Following his arrival, PC Fergus also made sure the baby's airways were clear and rubbed his back until he started to cry.
When the ambulance arrived, mother and baby were taken to hospital where they are both said to be doing well.
