RESIDENTS in Coatbridge were evacuated from their homes today after an "unexploded ordinance" was found.
Cops were called to an electrical substation near Corsewall Street at around 12.40pm following the discovery.
Officers locked down the area and some residents were evacuated while assessments were carried out by the EOD.
Police confirmed the item was safely removed.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers received a report of an unexploded ordnance having been found at an electrical substation near Corsewall Street in Coatbridge around 12.40pm on Thursday, June 23, 2022.
"EOD attended and safely removed the ordnance.
"A cordon was put in place and was later lifted."
