LIAM Gallagher will perform a special rendition of an Oasis classic at Hampden in honour of a fan who tragically passed away.

The family of James McGarrie, known affectionately as Mij, have been appealing to the singer ahead of his gig on Sunday evening to make a tribute to him.

James' loved ones have asked Liam via social media if he could dedicate Champagne Supernova to the late Oasis fan, who passed away in 2019 after dealing with mental health issues.

Suzann McKenzie tweeted: "James was a huge Oasis/Liam fan and he would be at Hampden Park if he was here today please dedicate Champagne supernova to James Mcgarrie!"

Kim McKenzie added that the family would be waving a union flag near the stage during the concert with James' name on it.

The family were delighted when Liam tweeted a response.

He wrote: "Champagne supernova for Mij Sunday Glasgow c’mon you know LG x"

Doors open at 4pm for the highly-anticipated gig, where Liam is expected to perform a range of both of his solo material and Oasis hits.
